Dave Zoller and Daybreak Express Dave Zoller, former pianist for Al Hirt, is a legend among musicians. The leader of a jingle studio when Dallas was at the center of the commercial music industry, Zoller continues to compose, arrange, lead bands, and perform on piano. He formed the sextet, Daybreak Express, to play the music of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. This year, Daybreak Express is celebrating the centennial of the birth of Strayhorn, the composer of "Take the A Train," "Satin Doll," and "Lush Life."
